摘要
Reverse-burn gasification (RBG, the ChemChar Process) has been applied to the treatment of soil contaminated with hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and thorium. Overall destruction of the PCBs in ''cess of 99.9999% (six nines) was achieved. No undesirable dibenzo dioxins or furans were produced, and metals and acid gases are retained in the char residue matrix. An overall hazardous waste treatment system based on gasification is described.
