摘要
Social workers comprise the largest proportion of the mental health workforce. Current trends in the psychiatric literature point to the routine implementation of psychosocial interventions for persons with bipolar disorder. This trend is in line with traditional social work theories and values, presenting an opportunity for social workers in the field of mental health to utilize this evidence in their practice. It is likely social workers can play key roles in improving outcomes for persons who have bipolar disorder. A review of evidence-based research is presented with a discussion of implications for practice.
