EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE OF LONG-TERM MELT ON SHORT-RANGE ORDER IN AMORPHOUS-ALLOYS

摘要
Mossbauer spectroscopy and X-ray diffractometry measurements were used to study long term melted Fe83B17 amorphous alloys rapidly quenched from melting temperatures between 1300 and 1500-degrees-C. We have found significant changes in the hyperfine field distribution of Fe83B17 amorphous alloys quenched from temperatures at which phase separation can be expected in the phase diagram. These changes can be associated with changes in the short range ordering inherited from liquid state.
