摘要
The adsorbed state of benzene on Pd(110) and Pd(110)(1 x 2)-Cs at 90 K and its thermal decomposition process in the temperature region up to 700 K have been investigated by using high resolution electron energy loss spectroscopy, low-energy electron diffraction and multiplexed thermal desorption spectroscopy. It is shown that benzene on Pd(110)(1 x 2)-Cs is more weakly bonded to the surface as compared with benzene on clean Pd(110), but that the thermal decomposition process is promoted by the Cs adatoms. The role of the Cs adatoms is discussed.
