摘要
In the production of titanium dioxide pigment through the sulphate route, the vanadium pentoxide content of the raw material, ilmenite, exists as vanadyl sulphate in the acidic waste effluent after the precipitation of hydrated titania by thermal hydrolysis. The process envisaged for the recovery of vanadium pentoxide from the effluent involves quantitative precipitation of the vanadium content as vanadyl hydroxide by ammonia neutralization in the presence of ferric iron.
