摘要
Two new materials were identified as possible replacements for granite: a mineral composite containing 75% granite, and a metal roll with a plasma-sprayed or electroplated surface treated with Teflon. Adhesion to a chromium-plated roll varied with temperature and reached a maximum at 100-degrees-C. Changes in press nip toad and machine speed between 400 and 1000 m/min did not influence the work of separation of a newsprint web from a granite roll.
