The risk of colorectal cancer is, increased with age, but it is frequent also among people under forty years old, and the characteristics differ from one case to another. It is often founded the mucinous carcinoma, mainly if there exists a history of familiar tumoral malignancy. Other characteristics are: tendency to arise in the right side, high rates of poorly differentiated adenocarcinomas, advanced stages and less chances of survival. From 1975 through 1989 we have treated 384 patients with colorectal cancer. Of these, 27 (7.03 %) were under forty years old. Analysis of histopathologycal data, in conjunction with clinical results and follow-up survival rates, are presented.
