摘要
Photofragmentation of molecular oxygen chemisorbed at room temperature on Si(111)7 x 7 is studied by monitoring the O+ photodesorption in the 95-120 eV excitation energy range. By combining photoemission and photodesorption experiments, O+ desorbed ions are demonstrated to be issued from a specific adsorption site of O-2 on Si(111)7 x 7. Furthermore the photofragmentation is shown to be resonant at 108 eV due to O-2/Si(2p-->3 sigma(u)) electronic excitation.
