摘要
Tourism is in a continuous movement, mainly due to the motivational changes of tourists, who are increasingly looking for new experiences that respond to new needs. Thus, new typologies appear that are formed as a complementary offer to existing ones, or as typologies that are capable of attracting their own demand. In the Dominican Republic it is not different. It is worth highlighting tourist typologies that have been established as a solid tourist offer in front of the sun and beach tourism in force in the country for years. Highlight ecotourism, cultural tourism, ornithological tourism or border tourism. This last typology is based on the border between the two countries of the Isla de la Espanola: the Dominican Republic and the Republic of Haiti. The objective of this research is to highlight the different potentialities existing in the border area, which would form a network of dynamic tourism activities, taking advantage of the strategic value of the area and offering an alternative to mass tourism in force in the country.
