摘要
Physical education professionals and students have greater contact with exercise practitioners and are often asked to provide guidance on how to eat and use dietary supplements. The objective of this study was to evaluate the nutritional profile and the knowledge of physical education professionals and students working in the Vale do Itajai gym. Information were collected in participants of both sexes through the application of two questionnaires adapted for lifestyle definition and knowledge about nutrition, in addition to the three-day food registry to determine food consumption. The anthropometric data were obtained through the measurement of body measurements and classified by Pollock and Willmore (1993). The sample consisted of 25 individuals, with a mean age of 31 years. Of the total sample, 48% were classified as eutrophic, 48% overweight and 4% obese, with a mean percentage of body fat of 19.19% considered "good". The female sex presented no increased risk for metabolic syndromes, already in the male sex, 13.33% presented. Regarding the energy needs, the average consumption was 2873,20 kcal/day, with consumption 2332,27 kcal/day, 541 kcal/day lower than the needs. Regarding their knowledge of foods and their composition, 36% (n = 9) of the participants correctly identified the sources of carbohydrates, 24% (n = 6) the sources of lipids and 44% (n = 11) sources of protein. There is a need for further investigation and nutritional guidance with this audience, which is directly related to academics.
