摘要
OBJECTIVES. The aim of this observational study is testing a new surgical motor which allows an intraoperative assessment of bone density and primary implant stability. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Two operators performed the bone density assessment of 727 implant sites. Patients were controlled every 6 months and dental implant success was evaluated according to the criteria proposed by Albrektsson and Zarb. RESULTS. Bone density measurements were distributed in the jaws similarly to the pattern previously described. After 1.5 years implant success and survival rates were 99.2% and 100% respectively. CONCLUSIONS. The measurements are reproducible and allow preparation of the implant site following objective criteria.
