TEACHING ABOUT THE PROBLEMS OF THE ENVIRONMENT AT CZECHOSLOVAK UNIVERSITIES

The article represents a record of the educational level of Czechoslovak univesities and polytechnics with respect to environmental problems and care just before the political changes in 1989. The necessary information was obtained by a questionare sent to all relevant educational instituctions in Czechoslovakia. The results of the survey are presented in three forms: i) as general information characteristic of the level of environmental education in the form of a table; ii) as a list of specializations aid subjects included into environmental education and iii) as a list of lesson books, university text books and further informational sources used during the educational process. The concluding discussion critically evaluates the obtained results.
