摘要
The impact of the number of quantization levels on the performance of a first-order nonuniform DPLL is analyzed, in the presence of a phase step signal plus Gaussian noise. The system is modeled as a homogeneous finite Markoff chain. In this way the steady-state probabilities, the RMS phase error and the mean time to slip a cycle or to reach the acquisition are evaluated in the case of a quantizer with or without dead zone.
