Current management strategy for cancer-related neuropathic pain

Neuropathic pain differs from pain resulting from excessive nociception, both by the physiological mechanism and the therapeutic management. Cancer-related neuropathic pain is frequent and variable, requiring particular attention in oncology units. Medical care is based on the use of antalgesic and co-antalgesic medications, together with local care and neurostimulation. A psychological approach is required in all situations, particularly in minimallyinvasive methods are proposed. This work reviewed the literature on this topic in order to evaluate current therapeutics and discuss the role of morphines. We wanted to elaborate a therapeutic strategy for the care of patients with cancer-related neuropathic pain.
