摘要：
VTT Energy, one of the nine research units of the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT), conducts research into energy generation, transmission and utilization. The unit also has considerable expertise relating to energy issues in the process industry. Its 20-strong forest industry research team offer expert services in paper drying and stock pumping, for which its Jyvaskyla facility is extremely well equipped (article on pages 250-252). Other VTT Energy research areas of interest to the forest industry include black liquor studies, sludge drying, paper mill energy balances, life cycle analyses and gasification of solid fuels.
