Pain from the perspective of traditional Chinese Medicine

This paper shows how Chinese medicine deals with the problem of pain. Thus the theory of Chinese medicine is stringently and logically presented as a scientific and practical system. The postulated explanations are primarily based on vegetative mechanisms. The functional relationships are systematically evaluated on symptomatic basis. It stands out that the efficiency of the treatment largely depends on the quality of the Chinese functional diagnosis. This also implies that the feeling of the patient is at the heart of the functional admission.
