A study is made of heat transfer during drop formation. Comparisons between experimental data obtained including and excluding this heat transfer demonstrate that the effect may be neglected for short drop formation times (of the order of about 0.04-0.08 s), but is significant when drops are formed over longer times. © 1990, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
