The submitted publication presents the information on extension of Greyzems in the territory of the Czech Republic. To locate and to make out the diagnosis of the given Greyzems type and the subtypes corresponding to it, the database of special probes has been used in the Czech Republic. Haplic Greyzems in the territory of the Czech Republic cover the area 21,938 hectares and Luvi-haplic Greyzems cover 5,640 hectares. It follows from the results presented that 60.9 % of the given great soil type is placed in the East Bohemian region. The extension of Greyzems is limited by soil-forming substrate (loess in our case) and by the climate as well. 73.9 % of Greyzems is in moderate to warm region, in climatic districts B2 and B3. The results submitted should contribute to more accurate structure of the soil cover of the Czech Republic.
