摘要:
Friction stir processing (FSP) is an advanced treatment of processing material. It is primarily utilized for change in the microstructure of treated metallic components over the surface layer. In this paper, three process parameters are used i.e., tool tilt angle, rotational speed, & weight percentage of reinforcement with their different levels. The FSP material is analyzed by microstructure and mechanical properties. Microstructure analysis revealed that there is proper mixing of reinforcement with the base material and no cracks were found. The ANOVA result discloses the %wt of reinforcement is the most significant factor to increase in tensile strength. The optimum level values are verified by conducting the confirmation of the experiment via Minitab software. The predicted value of tensile strength & % elongation at optimum level 3 degrees tilt angle, 900 RPM, & %wt. 25/75 is 243.2 MPa and 9.43 %. Copyright (c) 2021 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
