HORIZONTAL WATER EXCHANGE IN THE SUBSURFACE LAYER OF THE BLACK-SEA

The paper discusses the elements of the circulation and the processes of the horizontal water exchange between the shelf area and the deep sea obtained from the space-home measurements in the optical spectral Land. It is also shown that the water exchange is mainly determined by the nonstationary mushroom-shape currents (combinations of the jets with dipoles and multipoles). The regions in which the frequent observations of the elements of the circulation have been made ari shown and also the correlation between some of them and singularities of the bottom topography is discussed. The paper also discusses the possibility of the seasonal intensification of the exchange processes.
