LATTICE BOLTZMANN APPROACH TO COLLECTIVE-PARTICLE INTERACTIONS IN MAGNETIC FLUIDS

摘要
A 2D lattice Boltzmann model with 6 + 1 species of particles is developed in order to simulate the behaviour of magnetic fluids. Among these species, 6 of them carry an individual magnetic-dipole moment and, consequently, are subjected to nearest-neighbour interactions besides the local collisions. This model exhibits anisotropic-structure formation as a result of magnetic-field-induced gas-liquid phase transitions and anisotropic sound propagation, which are major characteristics of magnetic fluids.
