A SIMULATION OF DISLOCATION-MOTION IN POLYCRYSTALS

摘要
A two-dimensional model polycrystal consisting of close-packed hexahedrons has been examined by a computer simulation method. Deformation has been assumed to be controlled by dislocation motion of the slip planes in perpendicular directions. The influence of the applied stress, defect structure and other parameters on the dislocation motion trajectories (the paths of ''soft'' glide) in polycrystals and creep curves has been determined. Dislocation fluxes through a cross-section and their distribution according to grain misorientation have been analysed. The possibility of studying macroscopic characteristics of deformation in terms of its elementary steps is shown.
