摘要
TiSi2 exhibits a notable combination of metallic properties like thermal conductivity and resulting of this a thermal shock resistance together with a high temperature oxidation resistance up to 1 400-degrees-C. These characteristic opened a potential for applications at temperatures above that of metallic super-alloys. Silicides in common even are marked by a low ductility below and a high plastic deformation above a brittle-ductile transition temperature. In this work nearly uniform phased TiSi2-material of high purity and approximately theoretical density was investigated. Thus the properties were determined as nearly material characteristics. The behaviour in oxidative and corrosive atmospheres even as thermophysical and mechanical properties were tested as a function of temperature.
