DIETARY-FIBERS AND THEIR PROTECTIVE ROLE IN THE COLON CARCINOGENESIS

摘要：
The review of data from epidemiologic and experimental studies concerning protective role of dietary fibres (DF), non-starch-polysaccharides and lignin of vegetable-origin foods in the colon carcinogenesis is presented. Chemical structure and dietary sources of DF are considered. The results of experimental and clinical studies explaining mechanisms of the anticarcinogenic effect of DF are presented. A practical possibility to prevent colon cancer by an increase of the DF consumption with vegetable foods or by use of food additives and pharmaceutical drugs containing DF is shown.
