摘要：
In a review of the development of boronizing and the current state of the art, the authors discuss fundamental processes that occur as boride layers form, including the influence of different alloying elements. Following a survey of boronizable materials, specific applications are described to demonstrate how effective the treatment is for systems subject to extensive wear.
