Reflections on the proposal of Boaventura de Sousa Santos Century XXI University

This article raises some issues about the hook titled "The University of the XXI Century", published by BOAVENTURA DE SOUSA SANTOS The main approach is that the thesis of De Sousa, and its proposals remain valid. This is the reason why they should be analyzed and discussed by those who present a need and desire of a democratic participative practice for the colombian public universities. In summary, De Sousa Santos proposes that we make a creative, democratic and empowering reform of the Public University around the world, and argues that the only effective way of empowering and counter face a neoliberal globalization is on alternative globalization, which he calls the "globalization against - hegemony", but which I prefer to call ''democratic globalization".
