摘要
Since the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) was signed, M6xico has been consolidated as one of the principal suppliers of fresh fruits and vegetables to the North American market. This document analyzes the competitiveness of strawberry and its participation in the international market, measured through the Relative Export Advantage (VRE, acronym for Ventaja Relativa de Exportaciones) index and the Constant Market Share index (CMS). Results show that strawberry exports from Mexico have increased since 2004, but competitiveness has been lost in 20% since 2003 due to the decrease in exports value.
