DETERMINATION OF POLYHALOGENATED DIBENZO-P-DIOXINS AND DIBENZOFURANS IN SIMULATED INCINERATOR EMISSIONS

摘要：
A laboratory-scale device that simulates municipal waste incineration has been developed at Battelle and used to evaluate incinerator emissions from brominated flame retardants and plastics containing brominated flame retardants. Recent results indicate that incineration of pure brominated flame retardants does not generate performance conditions consistent with "good combustion practices". Combustion appears to be enhanced, however, when the flame retardants are incorporated into a plastic matrix.
