摘要：
Transthoracic needle aspiration biopsy was performed in 41 dogs and two cats with diffuse interstitial lung disease. A high correlation was found between poor performance status and risk of complications. Pneumothorax occurred in 31%, requiring a thoracic drainage tube in 6.2%. Five died as a result of the biopsy procedure. Cytological diagnosis was accurate in 83%. Subclassification of malignancies was satisfactory, as was recognition of eosinophilic inflammation.
