摘要：

The Paleocene deposits of the Volga region consist of different facies. Despite their detailed biostratigrapic characteristics having been received, the question of some suits correlation with the General Stratigraphic Scale is still disputable. The article presents concrete data stating that the age definitions of the Kamyshin's diatomites and Nizhnesyzran's silicates of the Middle Volga region, made by T. Oreshkina and G. Aleksandrova, are incorrect. The unreasoned age reduction of the suits bottom borders is refuted, the conclusions of these authors being qualified as artifact.
