GERMINATION TESTS FOR SMALL COLLECTIONS OF ACACIA SEED

摘要：
Viability testing for small collections of Acacia seed needs to be carried out using fewer seeds than the four replicates of 100 seeds recommended by the International Seed Testing Association. New tables are presented for the maximum tolerated range of germinants for viability tests involving 25-seed replicates. These tables have been derived using the Binomial distribution rather than the Normal distribution approximation. Data on A. mangium viability tests are presented in order to investigate the possibility of using three-replicate tests for Acacias.
