摘要
Rules governing the performance of public middle school teachers in Mexico City are contained in a myriad of regulations, a fact which leads to certain difficulties in understanding them. This article analyzes them based on a detailed review of the relevant laws and interviews with the public officers who enforce these provisions. Teacher performance rules are divided into three groups depending on the type of activity regulated: performance in the classroom, discipline, and attendance/punctuality. The comment also provides a brief explanation of the remedies for sanctions imposed on teachers by the educational authorities, and explains the nature of the termination lawsuit before the Federal Court of Conciliation and Arbitration.
