摘要
About one in three older persons falls at least once each year. Many of these persons do even experience multiple falls. In the age group of 80 years and older, 40% report a minimum of one fall. Hip fractures are the most serious consequences of falls accounting for a rising burden of public health care. In the present paper, falls in older people will be addressed regarding prevalence and risk factors as well as the most common assessments.
