摘要
In a revised study of RIU 1533 G. Alfoldy reemphasizes that the opening letters of the text refer to the Di Magni, a reading approved by other leading epigraphists, but proposes that these deities may have been worshipped at the strange temple with multiple naves recently found by J. Fisk. Templenses he now takes to be disciples of the cult, not temple personnel. To his commentary on this inscription Alfoldy adds an analysis of the family of Mercator, reconstructing the names and stemma of the family. In republishing CIL III 3342 (RIU 1537) Alfoldy suggests that several lines of the text could have been lost below the preserved wording and reiterates that the settlement at Tac cannot have been the focus of the provincial cult of Pannonia Inferior given that D. Fishwick has shown that the cult would have centred not on a temple but on an altar, perhaps that at Aquincum. Lastly Alfoldy suggests that the temple of the Di Magni could have been the eccentric, newly unearthed temple (above) rather than the whole area sancta as conjectured by Fishwick.
