The analysis of scientific and methodological literature has allowed to conclude that there is no systematic approach to professional activities in many medical universities of Ukraine: there are no developed curriculum of multidisciplinary specialties that reflect the specifics of future specialists' activity, methodology of developing professionally applied physical characteristics, etc. Due to the author's research, the program of professionally-applied physical training of future specialists in medical education will be efficient if the professionally-applied physical training of students will be focused on the formation of significant applied professional skills of specialists in various fields; curricula will be developed on the basis of a systematic approach using specific and non-specific methods and techniques; the formation of professionally significant qualities will adequately reflect the specificity of graduates' future activities; standards for physical training of students will be oriented at normative criteria for the training of future specialists. In this regard, the author has analysed and identified organizational forms, means and methods of professionally-applied physical training of medical students in accordance with professional components of specialists' activity. The purpose of the study is theoretical justification and experimental testing of models of students' psychophysical competence formation at higher medical institutions in the process of professionally-applied physical training by means of sports and gaming technologies. The formation of a psychophysical competence of students of higher medical institutions will be effective if the model is based on the usage of sports and gaming techniques in the process of professionally-applied physical training. The author suggests an original program of professionally-applied physical training of students of higher medical establishments, based on the improvement of the content of professionally-applied physical training of future doctors by means of sports and gaming activities. The author identifies goals, objectives, principles, methods, forms, and the resulting effect of professionally-applied physical training of medical students along with the traditional (football, volleyball, basketball), innovative kinds of sport activities (soccer, table tennis, handball, baseball).
