After recalling the basic principles of the heuristically based generalized perturbation theory (HGPT) its application to the sensitivity analysis in the thermohydraulic field is described, basing on the physical model used in COBRA IV Code. The methodology is applied to a number of significant cases. The results show the validity of the method and its unique role in drastically reducing the calculation time. In all cases the sensitivity coefficients so obtained resulted in very good agreement with respect to the values calculated via direct calculations.
