PLASMA POLYMERIZATION OF VAPORS OF ORGANIC-SUBSTANCES IN A BARRIER DISCHARGE

In a barrier discharge plasma at atmospheric pressure vapors of organic substances polymerize at rates of 1-3.5 mg/-(m2.sec); the resulting materials have elemental composition close to the composition of the polymerized monomer, and are soluble in the corresponding solvents. It is noted that the number of crosslinks between the molecules of the synthesized polymers is low.
