DECREASED DOPAC IN THE ANTERIOR CINGULATE CORTEX OF INDIVIDUALS WITH SCHIZOPHRENIA

摘要
The dopamine metabolite, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (DOPAC), was found to be decreasead in the anterior cingulate cortex of individuals with schizophrenia compared with normal controls, The finding does nor appear to be solely related to the presence of antipsychotic medications, age, postmortem interval, or freezer time. No changes in norepinephrine and its metabolites were found.
