摘要
Azithromycin and clarithromycin are newer macrolides that expand the spectrum of erythromycin. They are better tolerated and offer a more convenient dosage schedule but at greater cost to the patient. In addition to offering alternatives to traditional macrolide indications, they also hold promise for the therapy of less common pathogens, particularly in patients with AIDS.
