Approaching India's Military and Security Policy, with a Detour through Disaster Studies

The academic study of military and security affairs has never been strong in India, and few outsiders have paid much attention to these fields, but recent changes in India's strategic position, plus numerous crises with Pakistan, have triggered the slow growth in both fields in the last few years. However, these remain difficult subjects to study and write about, and lag behind India's actual and perceived power.
