Available experimental data on the transmissivity and the absorption coefficient of flat samples of magnesium oxide are analyzed in the semitransparency region of wavelengths of 0.2-13 mu m at temperatures from room temperature to 2000 K. These data are generalized to tables of recommended values for the temperature- and spectral-dependent absorption coefficient.
