NETWORKS : APPROACH TO A STATE OF THE ART

This article presents an overview of the state of the art on social networking, with an approach to issues related to its impact in education, with a special emphasis on the social network Facebook due to the growth that this has had in recent years. The use of social networking is increasingly popular in education and it is important, in response to this reality, studies on their usability, impact and areas for improvement. The text presents different views of social networks as communication spaces, their use in different educational levels, collaborative workspaces, and support research and training of teachers, among others, and performed at the end, an analysis of different uses of social networking in education, and finally, an analysis concerning the use of educational applications within social networks.
