摘要
The physical layout of electronic equipment can have a major influence on its electromagnetic behaviour. Correct design of this layout, in particular that ofPCBs, is therefore vital for EMC considerations, and accurate simulation of this behaviour is therefore needed. An equivalent circuit model for arbitrary layout has been developed and is presented in a companion paper in this issue. This paper describes the theoretical basis of a method to compress this circuit to a managable size for circuit analysis packages. An example demonstrating a massive increase in numerical efficiency is presented. Both the generation of the equivalent circuit and its compression are built into the Philips PCB layout simulator FASTERIX.
