摘要
For 1g model tests in sand a pressure-dependent correction for the displacements of rigid foundations in service states is proposed on the basis of a similarity analysis. The theoretical treatment includes a square foundation with a vertical load and a vertical pile with a horizontal load. The theory is checked and confirmed by triaxial tests and model tests using shallow foundations. Scaling rules are derived that confirm equations proposed by Terzaghi and Bjerrum. As a practical application of load-settlement formula for a single shallow foundation is proposed which includes the influence of the foundation size, its shape and bedding depth and the soil density.
