摘要
The CLAS process, a new method for casting small ferrous and nonferrous parts, has been developed from technology used in a similar process being utilized in investment casting. The basic approach in the process is to gate castings from the drag half of the mold directly into the casting or into a blind riser. The development of this process for casting thin walled, less than 1/2 in. , shell mold castings has been shown to reduce the amounts of sand, metal, energy and labor costs significantly.
