摘要
Investigations into the clinical and dosimetric characteristics of the neutron beam produced by the high-energy neutron therapy facility, currently being used for treating cancer patients at Clatterbridge Hospital, Merseyside, U. K. have been in progress since the installation of this facility. The present study is also an attempt in the same connection and aims at studying two very important characteristics of this beam, namely the distribution of charged particles as function of depth in a tissue-equivalent water phantom and the proton contamination in the neutron beam. Both the measurements have been made using polymeric nuclear track detectors.
