摘要
Introduction: Concerns about supply and consumption of dietary supplements are being widely disseminated in various environments and in the academies is widespread. The increased consumption of these resources increases every day and the professionals who make that statement are not always the most qualified. Objective: To assess knowledge of dietary supplements in physical activity practitioners who were also students of physical education. Materials and Methods: A questionnaire with data on physical activity and nutrition expertise was applied to a sample of 30 students and analyzed the results below. Results: 53% of students had the habit of performing both aerobic activity and strength training. 23% confirmed the use of dietary supplements prevalent in males. Protein is the nutrient most used by practitioners followed by carbohydrate supplementation and the main goal would be to muscle hypertrophy. The physical education teacher was the professional most often cited to indicate the use of supplementation. Conclusion: The number of students taking the supplements was small since most of the sample were females. The nutritionist has yet to gain traction in this environment since it was just cited for recommending supplements and more each day the population is showing a greater concern with the body.
