摘要
The metal flow simulation is ve" efficient method to optimize forging technology and die design. This paper presented two kinds of simulation for axisymmetric forging process based on UBET. One is called forward simulation which starts work from a certain billet and describes the way of metal filling the die cavity as two halves of the die come towards each other. Other is called reverse or backward simulation which begins simulation from a final perfect state of a forging in die cavity. It traces and reappears approximately a series of middle stage of deformation in the die cavity as two parts of die are imaginarily separated farer and farer. In the end it arrives at an initial billet or a preform figure of forging. In this paper the basic technic considerations with respect to these two kinds of method were presented. And some successful application in practical forging production using simulation technique proposed by the authors were introduced briefly.
