X-RAY-ANALYSIS OF GROWTH TWINS IN BI2CA1SR2CU2O8

摘要
We report on large-area twin structures in Bi2Ca1Sr2Cu2O8 crystals. The twins were growth twins on the (001) basal face with (110) type twin walls. Four-circle X-ray diffraction methods were used to establish the crystallographic relationships between twins. A shear angle of less than 0.1-degrees was experimentally determined, which was significantly less than a theoretical estimate of 0.42-degrees from lattice parameter values. Twin morphology and twin formation are discussed in the context of twin formation.
