摘要
We find ourselves in the era of globalization, the technological revolution, complex thought, multiculturalism and climate change, phenomena that constitute powerful and attractive foci of interestfor our society, and that must be present in the debate about the university of the future. If the purpose of teaching is to educate people integrally so that they are able to understand society and participate in it with the aim of improving it, then the role played by the previously mentioned topics when deciding about curriculum design, teacher training and also the structural and organizational aspects of the university, it is undeniable. As an example of this, we will describe and analyze throughout this communication, some of the actions that have been developed in recent years in the field of environmental education on Spanish university campuses to foster environmentalization of the university, to participate in the environmental education of the university faculty and to enhance environmental education in university studies. The environmentalization of daily life, also at the university, is one of the fundamental approaches of another broader and deeper strategy: the search for a sustainable future.
